Coca-Cola continues to evaluate and make changes in operations and throughout the Coca-Cola system value chain to reduce the company’s climate impact.
This is reflected in the decision to bring several sustainability initiatives under one goal to reduce the carbon footprint of the “drink in your hand” by 25% by 2020, a goal set in 2013.
Progress toward reducing the greenhouse gas emissions across the manufacturing processes, packaging formats, delivery fleet, refrigeration equipment and ingredient sourcing contributed to a reduction in the company’s carbon footprint by 24% by 2020 against a 2010 baseline.
The company is now working to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by an additional 25% against a 2015 baseline by 2030.
