Danone's Rotselaar plant in Belgium receives 'Factory of the Future Award'

Published: 23/02/2021

The Danone production site, located in Flemish Brabant in Belgium, has received for the first time the award of ‘Factory of the Future’ by the federation of the technological industry, AGORIA, and Flanders FOOD.

The factory received the award due its innovative production process, cutting-edge occupational safety interventions, and actions on climate change.

In 2020, Danone announced its intention to achieve global carbon neutrality by 2050 across its entire value chain. The Rotselaar plant will achieve this goal this decade, having already reduced its carbon emissions by more than 48% compared to 2015 and shifting to renewable energy sources.

The factory has been located in Rotselaar, Belgium since 1960 and produces dairy products using locally-sourced milk.
