Marvel\u2019s Spider-Man 2 has only been available for three days, but the critically acclaimed sequel has already become the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game in the brand\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
In a press release, Sony Interactive Entertainment states that over 2.5 million copies of the game have been sold within the first 24 hours of launch. The publisher didn\u2019t provide a breakdown in terms of physical vs digital, but that\u2019s an impressive number for the PS5 exclusive.<\/p>\n
This feat continues the series’ record-setting trend; 2018’s Spider-Man also became the fastest-selling first-party PS title at the time (for PS4 specifically with 3.3 million sold within the first three days of launch) and, later, became the best-selling superhero game ever in the U.S., a record it still holds today. Time will tell if this sequel can supplant its predecessor, but it’s off to a strong start regardless. <\/p>\n
