Czech food producers, members of the Federation of the Food and Drink Industries and members of the Czech Technology platform for foodstuffs and the Platform for reformulation are aware of the food industry key role in supporting healthy lifestyle among Czech consumers. Therefore, the Czech food and drink industry has decided to actively support Health 2020 – the National Strategy for Health Protection – by implementing the Ten Pillars of the Nutritional Policy.
Within this policy, food producers commit to pursue activities in the area of reformulation, consumer information and education, responsible advertising, physical activity promotion and cooperation with nutritional experts, academics, policy makers and other relevant stakeholders.
The Declaration and the Ten Pillars of the Nutritional Policy, which has been signed together with the Ministry of Health, will be regularly updated with new commitments as well as with results and achievements, so that it can demonstrate food industry’s long term aspiration to support health of the Czech consumers.
Since the new Health 2030 Strategic Framework was approved by the Czech government in 2019, which builds on the previously formulated strategic objectives of Health 2020, food producers, members of the Federation of the Food and Drink Industries, the Czech Food Technology Platform and the Platform for Reformulation continue to actively support the Health 2030 objectives, especially in the area of Strategic Objective 1. Prevention of diseases, promotion and protection of health, increasing health literacy through the implementation of the Ten Pillars of Food Industry Nutrition Policy.
